Very helpful, considerate and understanding

Our grateful thanks to Duncan for locating our aunt’s husband’s plot. He was very helpful, considerate and understanding. He even arranged for the best weather imaginable!

The setting was so beautiful and peaceful.

The setting was so beautiful and peaceful. Duncan was friendly and helpful too. The balance between helping/guiding us and leaving us in peace was just right.

Nothing could have been better

We chose the burial ground because of the location, simplicity, beauty and nature. On the day, we had a simple ashes interment and absolutely nothing could have been better.
This is a really nice place to have a loved one. John (the custodian) and Tracy (the Burial Grounds Manager) were absolutely the epitome of kindness and helpfulness at such a difficult time. The location could not have been better for us.

A peaceful place

Our son was a joiner so it is nice to have all the trees around where he is buried. It is such a peaceful place with many types of birds and animals including red squirrels!

Simple, straightforward, quiet and dignified

We are longstanding family friends of the Barretts, who own the land. Handley is buried close by and it is the only woodland burial ground close to our home. We had a celebration in Dingwall Baptist Church followed by a burial at Delliefure. It was simple, straightforward, quiet and dignified.

It was heavenly

My wife Mo saw it when she was out working and mentioned she would like to be buried there. She lived in Grantown-on-Spey from the age of 3 to 16, and we also got married in Grantown, the local town.

The burial ground is lovely. The funeral went beautifully, it was heavenly.

Returning to nature

The idea of being in natural surroundings rather than a conventional graveyard and the idea of returning to nature in an area we love attracted us to the burial ground. We would recommend the burial ground to others, it’s peaceful, comforting and uplifting. As good as it could have been.

As perfect as such a day could be

Sally used to cycle past and said that is where she wished to be buried. When we went there we thought it was so beautiful and peaceful. We chose it too. Nothing could have been better. It was as perfect as such a day could be.
