Simple Natural Burials

Our natural burial grounds

Our natural burial grounds are set within some of the UK's most scenic locations. They are peaceful, natural places that allow you to honour the end of a life in the type of countryside you love. These are also places of escape - peaceful, scenic locations that offer somewhere to reflect on life, love and loss.

There's an odd sense of inner-peace knowing where you'll finally be - somewhere familiar, somewhere you feel happy. Whether you're planning ahead or you need to arrange a funeral event now, we can help.

We love the countryside, being outdoors, close to nature

We love seeing cloud patterns change, tall grasses wave and hearing the leaves rustle in a fresh breeze. With birds singing, insects and wildlife busy all around and ever changing smells and scents, it's the perfect place to refresh your senses and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We hope you like what you see and will be able to visit.
The minute we stood in the meadow, we knew it was the right place to lay my mother to rest. My father commented 'She would like it here'. "

Natural burials at our burial grounds are simple, using only natural materials and leaving the lightest of footprints.

Cremated remains can also be laid to rest so they too will be close to nature and with the people they loved.

Our place in nature

The landscape tells a story - the history of a place

We try to make as little impact on the landscape as possible. We build no grand pavilions or artificial features that detract from the natural elements. We keep signage inside the burial ground very discreet. By treading with the lightest of footprints and managing with a soft touch, we keep things simple, natural and beautiful. The way you see the burial ground now is how it will appear for future generations.

What is natural burial?

Natural burial is the most ecological funeral option. It means that only natural, biodegradable materials are buried and that the land is managed in a sustainable way.

By choosing to be at one of our natural burial grounds, you will be protecting part of the countryside and leaving the lightest of footprints. It is a thoughtful and altruistic legacy.
Freedom - the meadows and woodlands offer time and space to do things your way. Whether arriving on horseback, bringing the dogs, erecting a marquee or keeping things very simple, you have the scope and freedom to do as you wish.
