Superb views

Tranquil but impressive. A place that wraps you in beautiful surroundings and lifts you to gaze at the superb views. A comfort to know my husband rests in such a special place. Professional but personal service.

Peaceful natural site with views of Cardiff

A peaceful natural site with trees around & overlooking Cardiff. Excellent facility and everything was well managed. It can be what you want it to be whether formal or informal and is the least impactful way of burial.

Lovely setting

It was a sad but uplifting experience. It is perfect for saying goodbyes to a loved one.

The beauty and peace of the grounds soothes

Professional, courteous, helpful and respectful team. Peaceful, calming, respectful, beautiful….

Thanks for your care and professionalism

I would like to put on record the family’s thanks to you and your staff for their care and professionalism. Their role throughout the process was exemplary with the right amount of careful caring but constructive advice and support. Of course, it was a very sad time, but made easier in the knowledge that you had our backs..so thank you.

Close to home

We chose Cardiff natural burial ground because it is close to our home in Llantwit Major.
The funeral was a humanist celebration of my husband’s life including music provided by a brass ensemble from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Unfortunately, our funeral was delayed for an hour because of a serious road traffic accident which meant all of my husband’s family were going to be late. Annabelle and the funeral director could not have been more helpful and held it for an hour. I was so grateful.

Lots of people who were present at the funeral are now interested in natural burials.
One thing I would note is to make sure to give people who are attending information about suitable footwear, nearest toilets etc.

Peaceful and comforting

We knew we wanted a natural burial, and Cardiff was the perfect place. It was a simple loving ceremony… A place like this takes you back to nature and overall, it was a peaceful and comforting experience.

An amazing place

We were looking for somewhere where you could be buried without a headstone.
Everyone was invited to attend the burial, we sang the Welsh national anthem, then had a drink in the memorial shelter and listened to a playlist of favourite music. It was wonderful.
It is an amazing place, everyone who attended the burial was impressed with the meadow, many didn’t know it existed. Some showed interest in being buried there themselves.

Calm, peaceful and relaxing.

It just felt right for my Dad. It’s calm, peaceful, relaxing and beautiful. It’s perfect.

The most beautiful resting place

My father wanted to be buried in a beautiful wood/meadow and as a lifelong patron of the museum, with a view overlooking St. Fagans, this ground was perfect. A natural burial meadow is undoubtedly the nicest, most beautiful resting place. Would highly recommend all parties involved.

He wanted a very simple ceremony with no fuss. It was very short notice, everything was organised and my father was buried within 24 hours – absolutely fantastic service and much appreciated.

As a family, we are so happy and extremely grateful to everyone involved with arranging my father’s burial. Everyone truly understood the importance of my father being buried within 24 hours and we can’t thank every enough for making it happen. We received fantastic service and are so proud he is buried in such a beautiful, peaceful place.

Enjoy summer with a picnic

Apart from the fact that it is so far from home, everything else is perfect. I love the fact that in the summer I can go and sit with a picnic and just spend time with John.

A serene and beautiful place

Emma, my partner, had said that is what she wanted. We had a somewhat traditional funeral which was non-religious. The natural burial ground is peaceful and beautiful. It doesn’t feel formal like a regular cemetery. It’s a serene and beautiful place. Much nicer to visit than a gravestone.

A sense of peace

We chose this burial ground because of a sense of peace. Our 16-year-old daughter, Manon, was a horse rider and we could imagine her loving the experience of riding there. Our neighbour had booked plots for her and her parents – we called in on our way back from the hospital and loved the setting.

We had a beautiful celebration of her life, first at Insole Court, then came to the burial ground – approx 400 people came too. We had a procession with Manon’s pony, Stella, leading the way.

It is a special place because you have complete freedom to organise exactly what you wish for your loved ones.

We loved that Manon’s grave was lined with hay – it looked so cosy and warm. We scattered rose petals on her willow coffin, which was so, so beautiful. We went to see her recently and it looked like the lambs were keeping her company, full of fleece right by her.

A sense of belonging to nature

Surrounded by wooded areas with views towards countryside that are important to us, such as the Garth Mountain and agricultural land. We decided on the Cardiff burial ground as everything about it is as natural as possible, and suited us as country people of farming background. It gives one a sense of belonging to nature. The funeral was exactly what we expected and more.

As a family, we were extremely pleased with all aspects. Annabelle gave 100% support without being intrusive. Annabelle gave us plenty of time to choose the plots and was always at hand to advise and answer any queries. We certainly like the idea of freedom to visit the burial ground when we want to. The staff at Leedam office were also very helpful and we would extend our thanks to them.
