A special day
Thank you to Sally and Craig for your help in making Friday run so smoothly. It was a difficult, but also a special, day. We are really pleased with the tree and the lovely plaque. It will be good to have somewhere to visit.
It was very special
My family and I planted a tree for my husband, Chris, on 19th June. It was very special as some of them had to come from France and it is not often we have the whole family together.
I wanted to thank you for how this was arranged. It was a perfect day. We met Poppy and Paul who helped with the planting, who were so kind and discreet. An emotional time but with much laughter as well.
Thank you for making it special. I’ll look forward to ‘visiting’ the tree.
A perfect setting, so peaceful
Perfect level of engagement with us on the day. A perfect setting, so peaceful.
Beautiful peaceful burial meadow
Everything ran very smoothly on the day, communication has always been excellent. Beautiful peaceful burial meadow. Thank you for providing a lovely setting and service.
There is no better fitting place for my mum to be
Since my mum’s ashes were interred at Leedam I have visited many times. Every time I have visited it has been different as the months and seasons have changed. I love the ease of being able to come and go with the key code. I have visited with family and alone. Each time I have appreciated the beauty of the landscape and the sound of the birds as well as the quiet time. While I feel sad the environment is always uplifting. It is a very special place and there is no better fitting place for my mum to be. The burial site is also very well looked after which is a tribute to Sally.
Lovely, quiet location for him to rest in peace
Thank you for helping us to give dad what he wanted, which was to be buried. We can visit dad at the natural burial ground which we really are grateful for. A lovely, quiet location for him to rest in peace.
Beautiful and Peaceful Place
Thank you for your support, consideration and professionalism on Friday, Sally. Everything went very smoothly, especially with your on the day assistance with the 4×4. You helped take away the stress that I was feeling on the morning.
I have a great sense of comfort that Muriel is resting in a beautiful and peaceful place.
Simple to use, clear, and well organized
Your service has been simple to use, clear, and obviously well organized. Thank you. Had it been anything else, I would have added that I should be happy to use your service again. But … As it is, I shall certainly recommend you to others, if the occasion arises.
So beautiful and peaceful
Howard was so lovely showing us to our destination. I could not have chosen a more beautiful day. It was so beautiful and peaceful. The birds were singing and the butterflies were all around. The best…..
The pond was looking amazing with the water lilies looking stunning.
I am so pleased that my sister is in a wonderful place.
She would be very happy I am sure.
Thank you all so much.
Such a wonderful site for my father
Thank you for all your hard work and providing such a wonderful site for my father, Derek Hill’s final resting place.
From beginning to end you were kind, efficient, thoughtful and gracious and the day could not have gone better. The meadow looked glorious with the buttercups and the path mowed for us to reach our spot with ease. Your cousin was so helpful and respectful and I loved the touch of the hay in the grave.
It was such a wonderful surprise at the end of the ceremony to be told that the Rowan tree had been planted and it was so lovely to be able to go down to the pond and see it thriving.
I can’t thank you enough for everything you did for us.
A great comfort
It’s been a little over 4 years but once again I would like to extend my thanks for a day that was as lovely as it could have been, we had hoped that our little Dad was going to stay with us for longer but there is great comfort in knowing that he is interred next to Mum in your beautiful spot.
Butterflies dancing around us
I just wanted to say thank you for yesterday. The service was wonderful. In fact, so many people have sent messages with regard to having a natural burial. I think most of the attendees, like myself, have never attended such a service, it was beautiful. There were butterflies dancing around us, perfect.
Far-reaching views and beautiful location
Thank you so much for all your advice and help with the interment of Poppy, our mother’s ashes. She had always wanted a natural burial site and we chose Aylesbury Vale Burial Ground because it was close to her home and because of its far-reaching views and beautiful location. We were so pleased we could also plant a tree in her honour around the pond.
We were so lucky that the weather was fabulous although everyone was prepared in case it was muddy. My grandchildren can’t wait to see the sheep grazing on the land in the future.
All good wishes for your future success. I think there were a few converts to the natural burial ground way of thinking last week.
A lovely, quiet location
Thank you for helping us to give dad what he wanted, which was to be buried, far more than his own village churches could do! At least we can visit dad at the natural burial ground which we really are grateful for. A lovely, quiet location for him to rest in peace.
A perfect place to reflect
Sally’s kindness and compassion were evident from the first time we spoke on the phone. She took the time to explain everything about the natural burial meadow, from the practical side of things to its ethos. She also met with us at short notice and at a time to suit to show us around the meadow.
The meadow is a beautiful, tranquil place surrounded by the most amazing views and everything is in keeping with nature. A perfect resting place for our Father.
On the day of the burial, Sally and her team quietly and respectfully ensured everything ran smoothly. If you could have had a perfect day for a funeral then this would have been it. The meadow provides a perfect place to reflect and I can see a number of our family choosing to be buried there when our time comes.
A lovely spot
On behalf of the family, please thank everyone concerned for their contribution towards the funeral. Everyone said it was a lovely spot.
The loveliest setting
The loveliest setting and loveliest way to remember my Father. J. Worley (Funeral Directors) Ltd. were so very good and respectful and everyone at the Natural Burial Meadow has been lovely to us. The gorgeous flowers came from Amanda Jane Flowers in Hemel Hempstead. We would recommend all three every time.
A peaceful resting home
Just to say how much our family appreciated your kind presence at Duncan’s ceremony. You have assisted us and given easement every step of the way from planting our tree for life and kindly facilitating the preparations for his farewell.
The meadow is a peaceful resting home and lends itself naturally to gather together to express our love and value for Duncan. Everyone loved the meadow including the sheep!
A perfect funeral
Thank you so much for all your support in making Georgie’s funeral so perfect. I am sure it was just as she would have wanted it. Myself and our family are so grateful for all of your efforts and attention to detail that all went to making the occasion one that will remain in our hearts. We felt so blessed with the wonderful sunshine and that was a real answer to prayer for us.
A truly beautiful experience
It was a truly beautiful experience. We were so lucky with the weather (even the wind didn’t hinder it) and even managed a picnic by the pond afterwards. It was really lovely to know that there was only our service on the day so there was no rush. There were only 10 of us but to be honest that made it so more intimate and special. The meadow and views were stunning.
Sally was so helpful. She met up with us a week before to show us around and to discuss what happens on the day of the funeral. I was in contact with her by text to talk about chairs and other last-minute queries I had. She was there on the day to help and reassure us.
So a very positive experience and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone thinking of a natural burial.
Dad’s send-off
Just wanted to send a thank you to you both and everyone behind the scenes. Dad’s send-off was the best we could expect and you both couldn’t have done any more or been any more helpful. Thank you for everything.
Peaceful and a wonderful view
My daughter Sarah chose the burial ground for herself, we scattered her ashes at Aylesbury with a small group of family and friends. We were very happy with the whole experience, from meeting Sally Whitworth, who was very understanding and passionate about the burial ground, to the tree being planted and our ceremony day. We would definitely recommend the burial ground to others.
Peaceful, above all simple
It is pure serendipity that I found the burial ground. I saw the sign and followed it. I’ve only lived in Buckinghamshire for 6 months. I drove into the gateway of the grounds, looked and burst into tears because it was what I had looking for, for over a year. Perfect.
Making a difficult time run smoothly
Thanks for making such a difficult time run so smoothly. My Nan had chosen the Aylesbury natural burial ground, and we buried her with my Gramps’ ashes. Sally was very helpful and understanding and very organised with info needing to be sent.
Everything was perfect
We chose Aylesbury because of the location, views, and peacefulness… We didn’t want somewhere covered in tall trees. The custodians provided an excellent service, they were available to answer questions anytime, helped with other things, and gave us advice. Thank you, Sally and Howard, everything was perfect.
Absolutely beautiful!
The burial ground is close to my late mother’s home in Aylesbury. She loved being outdoors in nature and gardening. We arranged an informal gathering of family and a few friends. We spread our mother’s ashes as a memorial on her birthday. It was a perfect occasion. Everyone remarked on the pleasant surroundings.
It is the perfect setting for the final resting place of loved ones who enjoyed nature. We could not be more pleased with our choice and the service we received. Thank you so much. Mum would have loved to see this meadow.
A simple, yet dignified funeral
I have never attended a more simple yet dignified funeral. It was just what we wanted for our dad. Of course, it meant more after finding out that your father worked at the same establishment as dad and we probably all attended the Christmas parties. Thank you for looking after us and dad. He is certainly in a special place now.
Heartfelt thanks
I just wanted to send you my and my family’s heartfelt thanks for all your help with regards to the scattering of Christopher’s ashes.
Everyone was delighted with the very tranquil, peaceful location of your natural burial ground and the beautiful sunshine on the day was a bonus. The scattering went very well with even my four grandsons scattering their grandad. It was a happy day for everyone, with only a little sadness. Once again thank you for your help and kindness.
A big thank you
Sally and her husband Craig were such a pleasure to meet and I am so happy to have used them to bury our precious Leo! They have the most humble hearts and really care which puts you at ease when going through an emotional time! Their service and understanding were above standards and really made us feel welcome! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a place with love and friendliness… a big thank you to them, for burying our precious Leo! ❤
A beautiful space
Thank you for the beautiful space you provided for Mum’s burial. We could not have been happier with where she was laid to rest; so much so that although we originally said no to reserving a plot next to her, Dad has changed his mind and would now like to reserve it. Hopefully, Dad has many years left but he said that he would like to be laid to rest when his time comes next to Mum. Once again thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful space to bury our little Mum.
Aylesbury’s first burial
It seemed a suitable place for my mother’s burial. Never having been to a natural burial ground I had no expectations. Work in progress with planting etc. I can’t think of anything that could have been better – even the weather was lovely. Everything about the day was lovely. My mother was nearly 95 and it was a celebration of her life, helped enormously by the lovely site for her interment.
My mother was the first to be buried in this lovely meadow. On the day of the interment, there were skylarks hovering over. On visiting since we have seen hares and so many birds. It is so comforting to know surrounded by the wildflowers and my stepfather has reserved the plot next to her for himself.
Sally the custodian is lovely and so helpful and James at Leedam did all he could to make sure that we were satisfied by everything.
