By making arrangements in advance, you ease the burden on your family at an emotional time.
To help with future arrangements, we’ve created an Information for When I Die document, a helpful guide to record your funeral wishes in one place. You can print it at home and keep it somewhere safe for your family.
Natural burial, sometimes called green burial, is a simple, environmentally-friendly way to be laid to rest.
Unlike conventional burials that may involve embalming chemicals, veneered coffins, imported stone or concrete vaults, natural burials use biodegradable materials and low-impact practices, allowing your body to return gently to the earth.
It’s a kinder option for nature, and a more personal one too.

We offer two types of natural burial at Cothiemuir Hill:
Whole-body burials in biodegradable coffins or shrouds
Ashes burials, which can be individual or placed alongside other loved ones
You’re welcome to reserve adjacent plots or combine ashes and full burial arrangements within the same area.
Walk the meadow and woodland paths to find the right place, somewhere that speaks to you.
Design a farewell that reflects your life, values and wishes. Whether it’s a quiet gathering or something more personal, you have the freedom to choose.
Pay in full or spread the cost across 10 or 20 months to suit your circumstances.
Leave a lasting legacy that’s kind to the planet.
