Dorothy's daughter Sally, now our custodian, planted a tree when she was a child, as part of the 'plant a tree in '73' campaign, and thought that this would be a great opportunity for local school children to do the same.
So, on Tuesday 25th November, pupils of Longwick Primary School, their teachers and families met us at the burial meadow to help plant 15 new trees. The trees included a mixture of oaks, beeches, hollies and other native species.
The sun wasn't shining unfortunately, but it didn't stop us all having a great time and one that we will always remember. Maybe one day the pupils be planting trees with their grandchildren too.
